For years, Primitivo has been a guarantee of uncomplicated wine enjoyment. This is because it is an early-ripening grape variety, and its berries in sun-drenched regions can already be partially dried on the vine at the time of harvest. This alters the ratio of sugar to juice in the berries, resulting in dark and fruity, velvety, full-bodied wines.
Enhances Italian cuisine such as pizza, pasta and risotto. Also pairs excellently with game dishes and grilled meats.
The Apulian peninsula of Salento, located in Apulia, is the heel of the Italian boot between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. The Mediterranean region of Apulia provides ideal conditions for grapes to develop a distinctive flavour profile. The warm sun promotes sugar formation in the grape berries, resulting in a juicy-berry wine with subtle spiciness. The PRIMITIVO SALENTO IGT is a typically Italian all-rounder that turns the ordinary into something extraordinary: its juicy fruitiness of dark berries and cherries, accompanied by laurel spice, notes of chocolate and mocha, as well as a touch of vanilla, make it a palate-pleaser par excellence. Pleasantly quaffable and velvety-smooth with a lingering taste of Amarena cherries.
